We are kings of our own kingdoms,
As far as the eyes can see.
Kingdoms built on imagination and falsehood,
Flawed by our humanity.
“I am owned by no one”,
This I said so confidently,
Without even pondering,
Where I came from or how I came to be.
Let no one deceive himself. If any of you thinks he is wise in the ways of this world, he must become a fool to become really wise. For the wisdom of this world is nonsense in God’s sight. For it is written,
“He catches the wise with their own trickery,” and again,
“The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are worthless.” So let no one boast about human beings, since everything belongs to you, whether Paul, Apollos, Cephas, the world, life, death, the present, or the future—everything belongs to you, but you belong to the Messiah, and the Messiah belongs to God. – Book of the Ancient of Days
